Then Sings My Soul Book Review

Then Sings My Soul, Book 3 is the third book in a trilogy about hymns. The author, Robert Morgan, takes us on a historical journey of the church and how hymns have changed over the years. The book covers these various segments:

• Biblical Hymns
• Medieval Hymns
• English Hymns
• Ancient Hymns
• German Hymns
• Gospel Songs
• Contemporary Praise

I Can't sing, nor play all of the song in this book, but I sure did enjoy reading about each of the hymns. The Author tell us about each hymn: it tells us who the author is and about the author, it also tells why the song was writting. I thought this was very interesting. I love learning about things like this. If only in my classes did I learn about facts like these. 

The author wrote about several hymns I already knew, but  there were as well many, many, many more I had never heard of. I enjoyed reading about the hymns I did not know, but I also liked reading about the songs I did know. 

I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in hymnology, or in using hymns as a part of their daily devotions.

Lucy and the Red-Tailed Hawk ~ Book Review

About The Story 

Writer Diane Cerone, inspiration was not what she saw, but what her two-year-old granddaughter Gretchen saw: a big bird dangling from a tree.

The big bird turned out to be a rehabilitated red-tailed hawk now working in nature-education programs. The hawk had escaped its handler that morning, and the bird’s leash was tangled in the branches of the tree. Thanks to Gretchen’s sharp eyes, the bird was rescued.

Cerone turned this real-life event into Lucy and the Red-tailed Hawk, a little book for children and for adults to read to children. Lois Auer, who has a federal permit to rehabilitate birds of prey, drew the illustrations.

My Review:

I loved this story.. It was very sweet. This is a great book for kids to read once they know a few words. It will help them to read better. The plot of the story is very simple and in my opinion it was very cute and would be a great book for young kids to read. You should check this book out.. I would recommend this book!

My Opinion:

This book is broken down into four sections, with several chapters in each section that have such interesting titles. The sections are:
1. Outer Beauty
2. Inner Beauty
3.Undergarments by Fruit of the Spirit (Not The Loom)
4.Beautifying my world
 This is one of those book that I really, really like. I'm sure not everyone could or would have related to this book 100%, but I'm sure 99% of the population would. People like to look good, not bad, right? There are many things in this book that will build your self esteem, Actually one of the best self esteem builder in a book I have ever read. the author put many bible verses in each section to uplift and inspire you. I really enjoyed reading this book..


I would recommend this book to friends.

MY THOUGHTS:
 I really enjoyed reading this short story! The story has many different characters in it, but I NEVER got them mixed up. The character I enjoyed the most is Sengal because I think my personality is more like his then Bengal. I liked how the author wrote the story with simple words for a young child would be able to read it easily, but with a few challenges. My favorite part is at the very end of the story, the happy every after part. If you want to see for your self you will have to read the book!

Departures - Book Review

This book is really 2 in 1. The first story in this novel was "Now Boarding at Gate 10" and the second was "In the Event of a Water Landing". I enjoyed both of the stories very much. The stories were only connected by one part, while they were in the airport. I did not think that it was like that. I though that it would have been connecting many times in both stories, but I can say now that I enjoyed reading theses stories very much.


The first story is about Christ Miller's Summer vacation just after her graduation from high-school, and the second was about a summer vacation of 15-year old Sierra Jensen. Both of the stories are the life as teenage girl, but I personally enjoyed Sierra's story much more than Christy's, but I did like readying them both.


I would recommend this book to any teen or young adult for a nice novel to read. I think the author could have done a bit better on Christy's  story, but overall I think this story was very nice!

Remembering You - Book Review

I did enjoy reading this novel that was centered around World War II. This novel is based on two gandfather telling their stories about World War II against Hitler's regime and the ultimate liberation of the Jewish people from one of the many concentration camps in Austria.

While reading this novel the part I enjoyed most were the historical aspect of the novel, I enjoyed this part the most because the rest of the story was hard to read. Not long after reading this story I got bored of the things Ava did, I think that is was because she only cared about her job and the next shoot.

Overall, this novel is an okay read, especially for those who love the historical aspects of World War II. There’s a fantastic author’s note at the end regarding her interviews of veterans and some of her research, but the novel was just not for me.

Softly and Tenderly Book Review

Softly and Tenderly is a very powerful book. It deals with many heartaches, tragedy, deception and lies. In the story Jade, the main character and a wife of Max, has these problems in her life within a short time. Jade had Faith in God, which helped her to hold herself together, mostly. At the very end of the story when Jade's mother dies, she loses herself for few minutes. Jade soon fell in love with the son Jade never knew he had until now.

This is the second book in the series Sara Evans had written. I LOVE this book, I believe if a person read this book who had some of the same problems of her could better relate to this story. The story line I loved because It was unique with its character. While I was reading this story I felt like I was REALLY there with the characters during her struggles, but also when she was having a great day. I think if a story makes you think about your life it is honestly a book that everyone needs to read. 

Not By Might Book Reivew

With most books, even if  I really dislike it, I would always finish it, but I would have most likely quit reading this book had I not received it for review purposes. This story's plot was not unique, and the characters in this story were overly preachy and sweet, which make it very unbelievable. 
Not by Might is written by Al Lacy, it is the 8th book in the Angel of Mercy collection. Don't get me wrong, The story was written well, but I found it very difficult to finish, since it was the type of story that moves slow and was over to top with the gospel 


The plot of the story would be suitable for others, but I tend to enjoy more of the unique story plot. Maybe other people would like the topic of this story, but it was just not for me. The story was written very well and I believe the author gave though to all the characters. One advice I would give to the author would be to use more of a unique plot. One thing I liked about this story is that it gave details like many stories do not.

Mercy Come Morning is an exciting story about the women Krista Muller, whose mother has Alzheimer and is kept in a first-class nursing home for patient who has Alzheimer. Krista Mulle, the main character n the novel, is not an unique character, but she is fun to read about and as you read, makes you feel close to her as if your knew her personally.

The story line and ending was a predictable story line, without the twists you would expect in novel like this one. For example, no real miracle happen during the novel. By no real miracle I mean, during the novel her mother did not just get cured of Alzheimer. This novel would be really nice for a car trip or if you had a few spare hours wherever you are. The story is a quick and easy read.

I would recommend this story to any of my family or friends.

Bridget Pickwick-Buchanan is the perfect character for her role in this fiction book. The author, Tamara Leigh, has a creative mind for giving her charters in the book a wonderful, exciting, and totally unique personality. This was the first time I read one of Tamara Leigh's books, having never read any of the series before this one there were too many different charters in the beginning and it kept getting me confused; however after I finished the first few chapters I quickly got acquainted with them and really got into the story.

Throughout the book it kept me wanting to read more,and it kept me wondering what would happen. There were many things I was surprised by when reading this novel, one was how well the author described the feelings of the charters and by the amazing story she created.

The story, overall was better than I had excepted when I first started reading. I would recommend this novel to anyone who likes to read an exciting story, filled with an abundant amount of wonderful charters, and a unique story line. Pretty much any age who has basic vocabulary would enjoy reading fiction story by Tamara Leigh.

God's Love Letters to You

A 40-Day Devotional Experience

God's Love Letters to You is a daily devotional. Each of the 40 days you start with a Bible chapter, then a verse from that chapter related to the short one page devotional. After reading the daily devotion it is followed by few question regarding the devotional you read then, it end with a closing prayer. Dr. Crabb writes for each day as if you receive personal letters from God.

I enjoyed reading this book very much, but one thing that I noticed while reading this book was the printing in the devotion part was smaller than normal which was not a problem to me, but if someone reading this had poorer eyesight them myself might. It was fun and exciting to read this book, having never read one Dr. Crabb's books before. It was also very interesting reading this daily devotional, it brought up points which was unique. The devotionals were written by Dr. Crabb's opinion of how God would speak to us if he was the one personal writing the letters. I overall enjoyed reading this short devotion as it was fun, and easy to read, and enjoyable.
